Cost of Invisalign Treatment, including retainers.

What are the total costs?

Invisible braces cost about the same as regular braces.  For most full treatments, Invisalign costs add up to around $7250, spread out over about 18 months.

Some very simple cases will cost less, some complex cases will cost more.

You will be given an exact quote at your consultation appointment.

How do I know if I'm in the very easy or very hard categories?

Invisalign Aligners

The only real way to find out is a full examination and consultation.  This costs $120, and takes about 40 minutes.

This link has example photos of easy, moderate, and hard Invisalign cases.

What is covered?

Fees quoted cover:

  • All necessary "aligners".
  • All routine appointments.
  • "Retainers" after the aligners.
  • One year's supervision of retainers.

What is not covered?

  • There is a small extra fee for "records" needed at the start to plan treatment.
  • You will need x-rays, which are taken at a specialist radiology practice (usually bulk-billed).
  • Before and during treatment, you will need to see your general dentist for check-ups, fluoride treatment, etc.
  • If aligners or retainers are lost, extra fees apply for replacement.

Does my health fund cover Invisalign?

Usually yes - the same rebates apply to specialist orthodontic treatment, regardless of the appliances used. However, you should check this with your Fund.

Is it cheaper if I only get one jaw treated?

No, because Invisalign charges the same for one as two. Also, the treatment works best if both jaws are treated. This gives a better result.

Can I pay it off?

Yes, fees are spread out over one to two years, with no interest charged.
